A Long-Term Care organization in the Albany, NY area is seeking an experienced Food Service Director to oversee and manage all aspects of the facility’s dietary department.
DUTIES:
Plan, assign, and supervise the work of Food Service staff.
Schedule and coordinate staffing and prepare departmental payroll as needed.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and care of all food and supplies.
Oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
Inspect meal trays for accuracy and compliance with prescribed menus.
Participate in meal service and special event planning when required.
Manage ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships.
Provide staff training, onboarding, and ongoing performance support.
REQUIREMENTS:
Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification required.
High school diploma or equivalent; further education preferred.
Prior Food Service management experience in a Long-Term Care setting strongly preferred.
SERV Safe or Sodexo certification a plus.
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Solid knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
