The Brearley School, an independent girls’ school serving over 770 students K-12, welcomes candidates for a one year, full time position as Teacher of French in the Middle and Upper Schools starting August 2023.

Responsibilities include teaching five courses in the French curriculum.
The ideal candidate will have:
● a bachelor’s degree in the subject area
● native or near-native proficiency in French and a genuine passion for teaching it
● at least three years of teaching experience at the middle and/or high school levels
● a strong interest in the use of technology in the classroom
● competence in inclusive, anti-bias, anti-racist pedagogy
● the ability to help students think independently and develop confidence in their own abilities
● excellent communication skills
● the willingness to collaborate
● a collegial spirit and a positive attitude.

Salary
In 2023-24, the total salary for this position ranges from $67,500 to $146,150, depending on experience. Salary ranges are updated annually in January.
