And we’re growing! The Role Our Banking & Financial Services Group is looking for a Sr. Consulting Manager to join our journey. We’re looking for someone who is a Solution Architect within the Banking domain. We are seeking a hands-on Solution Architect with strong experience in payments architecture, system integration, payment hub implementation and payments hub vendor platform evaluation. This role supports a major initiative to modernize Wires, Fedwire, and ACH services, with emphasis on integration architecture, technology architecture, “As-is” & “to-be” design, and technology platform strategy. The ideal candidate is well-versed in enterprise integration using tools like MuleSoft, Message Queues (MQ), and Informatica, with a strong understanding of ISO 20022, real-time payments, and integration with core banking environments. We’re looking for Sr. Consulting Managers who can deliver within Cognizant’s Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence, which are: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, & 5) People Development. As a Sr. Consulting Manager this means leading a team of Consultants through a client-facing engagement, managing escalations, and serving as a the owner of a workstream; maintaining expertise in your domain; meaningfully contributing to the sales process through a mix of RPI development, client presentations, financial modeling, pricing strategy, and flawless delivery; creating service offerings and/or client partner training materials; and contributing to PeopleCare initiatives, recruiting, and mentoring. Responsibilities Define and document the future-state architecture across Wires, Fedwire, and ACH payment services Analyze current integrations and systems architecture, identifying key integration touchpoints with banking core, fraud, infosec & other banking applications Collaborate with business analysts to assess vendor solutions & fitment ensuring proposed technology solutions align with capability models and strategic goals Evaluate third-party payment platforms for architectural fit, integration extensibility, security, and compliance Lead the technical analysis of RFI and RFP responses, reviewing vendor platforms for: Compatibility with ISO 20022 messaging Integration feasibility with core systems and middleware (MuleSoft, MQ, Informatica) Total cost of ownership Payment’s hub implementation approach & roadmap Architecture scalability, security, maintainability, and operational readiness Provide technical oversight during vendor demo sessions and participate in Q&A evaluations Create high-level implementation roadmaps, including system migration considerations and dual-core integration approaches Present architecture recommendations and vendor assessments to business and technology leadership Work closely with banks, technology, architects & information security to understand guidelines & existing solutions. Identify & evaluate payments hub vendor proposed solution & architecture & its fitment with bank’s existing & planned architecture Qualifications · 10 years of experience in solution architecture, payments hub implementation including at least 3 years in payments architecture (Wires, Fedwire, ACH) & integration · Proven experience with enterprise integration tools: o MuleSoft (API-led connectivity ) o Informatica (ETL/data transformation) o Message Queues (e.g., IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ) · Familiarity with ISO 20022 messaging standards and regulatory compliance in banking · Experience designing and evaluating third-party vendor solutions · Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and executive presentation skills · Ability to work in hybrid or Agile environments and lead cross-functional working sessions Nice to have skills · TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification · Experience working in dual-core or multi-core banking platforms · Background in digital payments modernization, AI/automation architecture, or real-time payments · Cloud platform architecture exposure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) Work Authorization · Cognizant will only consider applicants for this position who are legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship (H-1B, L-1B, L-1A, etc.) Benefits: Cognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance Paid holidays plus Paid Time Off 401(k) plan and contributions Long-term/Short-term Disability Paid Parental Leave Employee Stock Purchase Plan Disclaimer: The compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
