An opportunity is available for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support a high school setting in Columbus, GA. This contract position runs for the current school year (CSY) and is ideal for an interpreter experienced in educational environments, helping to bridge communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers.

Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills
• Experience working in educational settings preferred
• Ability to facilitate clear, accurate communication in classroom and extracurricular activities
• Strong understanding of deaf culture and communication access needs
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in interpreting is a plus

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services during classroom instruction, meetings, and school events
• Support students communication needs to enhance learning and social inclusion
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to accommodate deaf or hard-of-hearing students
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Adhere to ethical guidelines for sign language interpretation
