The Instructor is committed to providing exceptional customer service, building student confidence and self‑esteem, and working as part of a collaborative team to ensure all student needs are met. Qualifications Passion for math and working with students; ability to demonstrate proficiency in Algebra 1 (higher level math preferred) Excellent interpersonal skills; engaging, enthusiastic, and able to inspire students Eagerness to learn and complete ~20 hours of training within one month of hire, plus ongoing coaching Strong multitasking abilities; able to manage multiple students simultaneously and document their work Professional demeanor and effective communication with parents, students, and coworkers Availability for 6–10 hours spread across at least two shifts during the week and one weekend shift (Saturday and/or Sunday); up to 20–25 hours may be required in some cases Responsibilities Use the Mathnasium Method and instructional constructs to teach students Maintain accurate and timely availability information Continuously improve instructional skills and retain training content Attend staff meetings approximately once every 4–6 weeks when not instructed Teach in a student‑centered manner, providing praise and constructive feedback Support center administration and cleanliness, including daily end‑of‑day tasks when requested Hours Monday – Thursday (in‑center) from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm (exact hours vary by location) Saturday (in‑center) 10:00 am – 2:00 pm (some locations) Saturday (online) 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm Sunday (in‑center) 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm (exact hours vary by location) Team meetings are usually held Sundays before opening every 4–6 weeks Additional Information All applicants must take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check. Mathnasium locations are independently owned and operated by franchisees; each franchisee is the employer for the center.
