Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: Takes brief patient histories and performs physical examinations under the lactation specialist's scope of care. Develops treatment plans and explains them to patients. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

What qualifications you will need:

Education:

Associates Degree Preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years experience in lactation consulting required.

Licensure:

Current State FL License as RN or LPN required. If compact RN license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire. Certification as Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)

Training:

Current BLS (Basic Life Support); Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Skills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

We are a teaching hospital in collaboration with UCF College of Medicine. Our hospital is conveniently and centrally located in the Heart of Kissimmee.
