Investment Director - Pearson Ventures

Team Responsibilities

• Strategic Investments sourcing, executing, and managing a portfolio of investments.
• Strategic Partnerships developing and managing partnerships with portfolio companies.

Youll work closely with Pearsons business divisions, corporate M&A and strategy teams, and have exposure to executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Investments
  • Lead investments across the full lifecycle, including sourcing, evaluation, transaction execution, and portfolio management.
• Portfolio Management
  • Track and deliver strategic objectives for investment deals.
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge exchange.
  • Oversee governance and reporting.
• Strategic Partnerships
  • Identify partnership needs and develop commercial opportunities.
  • Support execution, monitor progress, and ensure clear communication.

Qualifications & Skills

• Background in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or corporate strategy/M&A/business development.
• Direct investment experience, including board participation and strategic guidance.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
• Commercial mindset with ability to identify opportunities and structure deals.
• Proven ability to lead and work within highperforming teams.
• Credibility with senior/executive management and ability to build influential relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and high emotional intelligence.
• Selfstarter with a resultsdriven approach, able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with AI productivity tools.

Compensation

California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws: minimum fulltime salary range is $165,000 $205,000. Eligible for annual incentive program and additional benefits.
