As we prepare for the campaign, we seek an ambitious and motivated colleague with exceptional database and analytical skills to help us advance Mass Audubon’s work. The Database Analyst will join a talented and committed department of 30+ professionals who raise annual support for the organization as well as multi-year support for special projects.

Reporting to the Director of Development Operations, the Database Analyst is responsible for responding to list and analysis requests; maintaining documentation; providing support for end users in our fundraising CRM, Revolution Online (ROI) and serving as an essential development partner on future database conversions; and working as part of a team to meet organizational needs in a timely and accurate manner.

The successful candidate will have a track record of meeting and exceeding the data needs of an active frontline and operations team for a complex, matrixed organization. Successful individuals will be capable of juggling multiple projects while maintaining a healthy sense of both humor and determination.

Responsibilities

• Manage data extraction efforts for the purposes of fundraising analytics, invitation and email list creation, prospecting, and internal reporting; leverage existing reporting functionality through CRM tools, Q-tool, Power BI, SQL, and others
• Develop, create, and maintain suite of Philanthropy reporting for internal and external audiences in collaboration with Director of Development Operations
• Configure, understand, maintain, and improve suite of coding for constituents in the database in service of list generation and data extraction efforts
• Field end user questions and requests for information in a timely manner; establish, maintain, and communicate data extraction standards
• Support end users both through regular training and troubleshooting of database processes; create mechanisms for sharing database expertise in different modalities to support end users at various levels of technical acumen
• Complete regular, administrator-level database tasks such as global changes, bulk uploads, and data hygiene tasks
• Perform database administration tasks as needed, including account setup, user permissions management, and code table updates
• Serve as key partner representing Philanthropy team on technology roadmap and database conversion projects
• Create and maintain documentation for database tools and processes; store and share documentation in an accessible manner
• Partner with IT and Director of Development Operations to understand and optimize current system integrations; develop deep understanding of database capabilities

Must Haves

• Experience with a CRM in a fundraising environment
• Experience in systems with administrator-level permissions in a database of record
• Experience with data analysis and reporting to varied stakeholder audiences
• Proficiency with tools like SQL, Power BI is a plus, and a growth mindset is required
• Familiarly with development processes and data extraction needs in a complex organization
• Outstanding attention to detail with high level of accuracy and determination
• Ability to translate complex data concepts into practical terms for non-technical audiences
• Ability to work with both technical and non-technical users on projects and tasks
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential data with high degree of discretion
• At least three years of work experience in development operations preferably in a non-profit environment

Nice to Haves

• A passion for nature and conservation is a plus

Compensation, Benefits and Perks
This position’s pay range is $70,000-$85,000/year; actual salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements.

Mass Audubon employees enjoy 13 paid holidays (holidays may shift annually due to where days fall within calendar).

Work Schedule
Full-time schedule of 40 hours, Monday through Friday.

Other Requirements
Employees must successfully complete a CORI and SORI Background Check and a Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable) is required.
